What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Assistant position at Panorama?
This position assists with plans, schedules, and implementation of a program of individual and group activities for the residents of the Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center and Assisted Living. Our Activities staff demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and helpfulness to all residents, families, and the general public as a representative of Panorama.

- Under direction of the Activity director, plan, schedule, and implement a program of group activities to meet individual’s needs and group needs of residents in C&R and Assisted Living. Organize and schedule community events related to residents’ interests as appropriate.
- As directed, procure and maintain an adequate supply of materials to implement activity programs.
- Under direction of the Activity Director, assess the activity interests, needs, activity capabilities, and problems of each resident within five days of admission.
- Identify and document activity plan in resident’s care plan, update activity care plan every three months or as resident’s condition changes.
- Assist and/or lead assigned group or one-to-one activity.
- Document Residents’ attendance forms into electronic resident profile daily for both group and independent activities.
- Document all interactions with resident and/or resident’s family in the assessment and care plan as required by state standards.
- Assist with planning and conducting Residents’ Council at least once a month.
- Plan and implement evening and weekend activities for residents as necessary and as directed.
- Plan, schedule, and implement room visits and in-room activities for residents who are unable to leave their room as directed.
- Under the direction of the Activity Director, plan, collaborate, and assist in interdepartmental activities with both Assisted living and Independent living communities
- Oversee volunteers as directed.
- Observe infection control procedures related to the activity program.
- Maintain responsibility for the safety of residents under your supervision.
- Observe Resident’s Rights policies at all times.
- Perform all duties safely.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school education or the equivalent required
- Six months experience working with the elderly in a retirement community or health care facility
- Experience in Activities preferred
- Ability to speak and understand verbal and written English proficiently is required.
- Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency required.
