What You'll Do

As the Weapons Program Lead, the candidate will be responsible for managing complex, multi-discipline engineering issues as assigned. They will be the Technical Engineering, System Design, and Process point of contact for the program. The Weapons Program Lead makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive technical activities. Typically, has demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature technical judgment in anticipating and solving unprecedented technical problems. The Technical Lead performs work at a high level requiring advanced understanding and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the engineering field.

  • esIdentifying potential design and requirement issues that will impact production and working with the Design Agency to resol
  • veCoordinating across the Engineering divisions (Process, Tooling, Testers, Systems, SAE) to identify resource needs and fundi
  • ngMaintaining open communication with lead Engineers at SNL, LLNL, LANL, KCP, Y12, et

  • esActing as the PRT Coordinator, responsible for ensuring all PRTs have adequate resource support and being present at PRTs as requir

  • tsBachelor's degree in engineering preferred and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experien
  • ceOR Master's degree and a minimum 10 years of relevant experien
  • ceOR PhD and a minimum 7 years relevant experien
  • ceIn addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, 2 years job-related and at least 1 year nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternativ
