What You'll Do
- Serve as the deputy to the Senior Director for Infrastructure. Directly or indirectly support Infrastructure functions through the development, implementation, and administrative control of a variety of maintenance programs, policies, and functions. This support typically includes facilities, compliance activities, construction, modification, maintenance, inspection, and operation of facilities, associated systems and equipment. Maintain the site’s grounds in an accessible and functional condition throughout the year, and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Responsible for ensuring an adequately trained maintenance workforce. Assigns work and tasks to subordinates by specifying task parameters including quality and quantity of work, use of resources and expected completion time; effectively manages resources to ensure assignments are completed in a safe and efficient manner; and develops individuals in subordinate roles to ensure technical competence and thorough understanding of safety and quality aspects of maintenance at the site while ensuring minimal impact to plant operations.
- The employee’s primary duty is management of the Pantex Infrastructure enterprise that consists of an exempt, non-exempt, and MTC represented workforce. The position includes duties, such as: interviewing, selecting, and training employees; setting and adjusting pay and work hours; appraising employee productivity and grievances; disciplining employees, and planning and apportioning work among employees.

Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree: Minimum 12 years of relevant experience. Minimum 5 years of relevant supervisory/ management experience.
- OR twenty or more years of relevant education, training, and/or progressive experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
- NOTE 2: Staff with high school diplomas may be considered on an exceptional basis if they have more years of relevant experience. Typically, each year of college education is equal to two years of experience.
- NOTE 3: Supervisor/management experience may be obtained through a combination of:
- Directly supervising people
- Managing programs/projects that require leading diverse teams with job responsibilities including hiring personnel, giving performance feedback, personnel goal setting and/or mentoring/coaching. Note: Will be reviewed for relevancy toward the management experience requirement.
- In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., High School diploma and 3 years nuclear experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative) DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2)
