Essential Job Duties

  • ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
    • Performs work in accordance with relevant directives (Federal Standards, DOE Orders, Corporate Directives, plant Process Documents, Work Instructions, Desk Aids, and written instructions, etc).
    • Accountable for all direct output assigned and for providing direct output support to his/her manager.
    • equired to attend and/or successfully complete training classes as assigned by their manager.
    • Actively supports the Plant Safety Program.
    • Provides feedback to their manager when exceptions in the process are encountered.
    • Understands a worker’s right to stop work when they feel his/her own or other’s personal safety is jeopardized.
    • Reports all perceived unsafe conditions or acts through their management or through other reporting mechanisms as appropriate for the situation.
    • Participates in worker involvement including input to work planning and methods to identify hazards and controls.
    • Understands and complies with the Human Reliability Program (HRP) requirements applicable to their position.
    • Maintains their work area in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
    • Utilizes resources responsibly to minimize waste and maintain efficiency.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • MEDICAL:
    • Maintains laboratory and radiological accreditation as required by the State.
    • Collects, processes, and mails special bioassay specimens for outside laboratory testing
    • Maintains accurate identification {all X-rays maintained which includes maintaining a current cross-file to ensure rapid retrieval at all times.
    • Performs quality assurance testing programs in accordance with acceptable standards.
    • Performs X-rays, laboratory tests and analysis as required.
    • Collects drug screens and processes proper Chain-of Custody forms for company drug screens inclusive of
    • DOT testing
    • Packages biomedical waste in OMD and the handling of biomedical waste on plant site.
    • May serve on medical disaster decontamination team.

  • Must be able to meet initial employment requirements.

  • Must be physically fit to perform their assigned job functions as determined by Medical Evaluation.

  • Must be able to perform applicable job functions within their area of work.

Education

  • EDUCATION:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2 (i.e., 1 year job-related experience, or a DOE O 426.2 alternative). DOE 426.2 experience requirements can be satisfied following employment. In the interim, newly hired personnel will not be assigned duties that could impact the safety basis of nuclear facilities. (Ref. DOE O 426.2)
  • MEDICAL
    • Must have specialized training from a qualified institution in laboratory techniques and procedures.
    • Must hold an Associate Degree or equivalent in the field of medical technology or medical radiology or possess a current license, registration, or certification in one of these areas.
    • Four years of related experience.
  • DOE ORDER 426.2 REQUIREMENTS:
    • Personnel entering positions and performing duties, identified by management as, falling under the requirements of DOE O 426.2, must meet certain minimum education and experience requirements as provided in the Order: 1-year job-related experience.
    • Note: The DOE O 426.2 Position Matrix identifies job titles that contain positions (tasks) identified by management as falling under DOE O 426.2 requirements. Some job titles consist exclusively of DOE O 426.2 positions. Other job titles contain a mixture of DOE O 426.2 positions and non-DOE O 426.2 positions. A review of the tasks of each role within an identified job title is performed to verify proper classification of the work, not just the individual or title. (Ref. WI02.04.01.06.10)

Functional Requirements

  • Heavy lifting or carrying: 40 pounds
  • Ability to keyboard
  • Repetitive motion of the wrist/forearm
  • Walking: 2 hours/day
  • Standing: 2 hours/day
  • Normal far vision at least one eye correctable to 20/40 (20 feet)
  • Near vision (must be able to read computer screen, manuscript, book etc. at approximately 13-16 inches from the face)
  • Ability to distinguish basic colors (red, green, etc.)
  • No evidence of current drug or alcohol abuse
  • Ability to perform safety-sensitive duties

  • Prolonged or irregular hours: may be on-call 24/7
