What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solutions Architect position at Pantex?
As a Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for designing and implementing innovative solutions to business issues. You will lead multiple complex and high-priority projects, working closely with the IT architecture, operations, and project management teams to scope, estimate, and provide overall technical guidance for assigned solutions/opportunities.
You will analyze existing systems and processes, providing input on ways to improve them and the system infrastructure. You will also provide detailed documentation for implemented solutions and necessary knowledge base articles to allow for operational and ongoing support.
The successful candidate will have strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to understand and break down complex problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance and evaluation of technology solutions to inform technology direction and ensure CNS is utilizing best-in-class technologies and practices in support of its missions.
- Identify and work with engineers and architects to identify areas for automation and application of DevOps principles.
- Work with IT and business partners on cloud-based technologies and how cloud can be utilized as part of solutions.
- Evaluate Cyber Security implications of solutions and technologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering/science discipline with a minimum 2 years of solutions architecture experience.
- Ten or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, MIS, Math, or related field.
- Demonstrated technical experience in server, storage, and general technologies including Cisco UCS, VMWare, Netapp FAS, PureStorage, iSCSI, NAS, NFS, and Fibre Channel.
- Familiarity with DevOps orchestration and automation concepts, ITIL processes, and programming/scripting languages such as .NET, BASH, Perl, PowerShell, Python.
