Position Overview
Do you want to help support the mission of the United States Coast Guard in Baltimore, MD? If so, we are looking for you! Pantheon Data has a need for a Marine Propulsion Engineer - Journeyman that has experience working with power generation and propulsion systems. This person works within the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness Division to provide engineering support to the United States Coast Guard - Surface Forces Logistics Center, Engineering Services Division.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and documentation design, develop, and evaluate the operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, to include, but not limited to: power supply and propulsion systems.
- Research and develop ship propulsion systems, to include, but not limited to: diesels, gas turbines, diesel-electric systems, propellers, rudders, thrusters, gears, shafts, bearings, seals, noise, vibration, and interfaces with dynamic positioning systems, and apply to applicable design and requirements.
- Develop system documentation and ship specifications.
- Conduct analyses propulsion systems and types, lead development of technical data packages and reviews.
- Conduct trade studies regarding ship configuration.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years' documented experience with developing ship propulsion and control systems, machinery arrangements, weight assessments, and conducting trade studies on the configuration of propulsion and associated components.
- Familiarity with ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations.
Education
BS or MS in a Technical, Engineering, or Marine field
Clearance Requirements
U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Work Location
USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center, Glen Burnie, MD - Hybrid - four (4) days a week.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
