Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional care to clients in the comfort of their own homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings, including Level I and Level II Trauma Centers, and possess a strong understanding of emergency medicine, geriatrics, and medical-surgical care. This role is vital in ensuring that clients receive the support they need for daily living activities while maintaining their dignity and independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Assist with mobility and transportation to appointments or outings as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals regarding client needs.
- Support clients with rehabilitation exercises as directed by healthcare providers.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while providing care in various settings including outpatient clinics or inpatient facilities.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an In Home Caregiver or in a related healthcare role preferred.
- Familiarity with emergency medicine practices and procedures is a plus.
- Knowledge of geriatrics and medical-surgical care principles is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently while being part of a larger healthcare team.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and medical professionals.
- Must be compassionate, patient, and have a genuine desire to help others.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided if necessary.
