Job Description:
This position is responsible for providing design support to engineers for water, wastewater, stormwater, floodplain, drainage, transportation, and facility projects.
Responsibilities
- Work from detailed sketches or off redlines to prepare plans, profiles, and detail drawings in Microstation.
- Develop construction documents showing topographical contours, elevations, profiles and cross-sections as well as develop draft design engineering drawings.
- Understand and use established company standards for drafting including layer names; line and character styles; drawings and file names for sheet layout.
- Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervision.
- Inform Project Manager(s) of progress on assigned projects and request work when needed.
- Maintain organized work area to allow access of project information by other team members.
- Flexible in work assignments and team assignments.
- Associates Degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design from an accredited institution of higher education.
- 7 years of experience.
- Proficient in Microstation, ProjectWise, GeoPak and/or InRoads.
- Experience with Open Roads Designer is not a requirement, but is a positive.
- Effective communications skills both oral and written skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills for interaction with colleagues, clients and public agency officials.
- Self-starter and highly motivated.
- Ability to work interdependently within a team environment.
- Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs.
- Must be able to work 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime.
