What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager position at Pape' Machinery, Inc - Agriculture & Turf Division?
Directs and executes the activities of machine sales, rental, parts, service and administrative departments. Position will oversee the Yuba City, Colusa, Gridley, Willows and Chico locations in California. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with forecasting stores prime product, rental, parts and machine sales volume, direct expenses, and capital expenditures.
- Maintain direct and capital expenses within stores budget figures.
- Manage overall profit and market share responsibilities for all departments of assigned branches.
- Become familiar with all major competitors within store territories.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all department Managers and Representatives from the manufacturers.
- Maintain a satisfactory relationship with all current and potential store customers.
- Set area goals and establish plans towards achieving those goals.
- Ensure all significant store decisions are made at the lowest possible level of the department that is affected by the decision.
Requires prior successful management experience in a capital retail goods operation. Prior experience in goal setting, budgeting, personnel management, and demonstrable successful marketing and sales experience necessary. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are required.
