Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and preparing project bids in accordance with project plans, specifications, and other listed requirements. This includes:
- Identifying project leads and obtaining project documents
- Preparing and managing project estimating files
- Performing detailed material takeoffs, utilizing software such as Agtek for earthwork quantities
- Obtaining quotes from subcontractors and material suppliers
- Creating preliminary project schedules for estimating purposes
- Supervising and mentoring estimating staff
In addition to these responsibilities, the selected individual will also travel to job sites as required, develop and maintain records of production costs, performance against established standards, and other related metrics, and assist project management staff with change order pricing as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, applicants must possess a thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites, quality building practices, proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects, strong knowledge of project coordination and scheduling, proficiency in construction estimating techniques, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as HeavyBid estimating software.
