What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Materials Specialist position at Papich Construction?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sells products to business/industrial establishments or individuals utilizing knowledge of the product sold, aggregate use for Construction, Concrete products, and asphalt plants
- Increases sales volume for products and services, while maintaining sales expense budget
- Compiles a list of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from a variety of sources
- Develops and maintains profiles of customers and competitors
- Responsible for meeting customer, agency and job specific specifications
- Tracks product inventory to ensure adequate supply of product is available to meet customers' needs
- Coordinates product delivery if necessary
- Monitors customer accounts to ensure prompt payment of goods and services
- Analyzes market potential, including competitive pricing, activities, market trends, and other relevant facts and report findings to the Materials Sales Operations Manager
- Keeps up to date on product changes, selling strategies, competitive surveillance methods, expense control, etc.
- Maintains continual vigilance over competitors' programs and pricing and include these observations in written reports as required to include price, product changes/improvement, terms of sales and service
- Maintains proper product and service positioning in the marketplace to ensure maximum profit potential while maintaining maximum goodwill with customers
- Establishes annual sales projections by product and recommends program to reach sales projections to the Materials Sales Operations Manager
- Ensure daily, weekly and monthly reporting is accurate and timely
- Professionally represent the company at industry, trade association, customer, legislative and technical meetings and various social and business functions
- Perform other related duties as assigned
