Classified Specialist - Human Resources Generalist - Papillion La Vista Community Schools
General Description: The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources Department at Papillion La Vista Community Schools. This position is responsible for providing assistance with onboarding new classified staff members, promoting current job openings on all online avenues, and managing various day-to-day tasks within the HR office.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related area
Certification: Not required but preferred SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)
Experience: Human Resources preferred
Other: Excellent communication, technology, and clerical skills. Proficiency in Google Suite and other district software programs. Excellent oral, written, and phone communication skills. Strong organization, multi-tasking, and planning skills.
Terms of Employment:
- Full Time/260 Days
- Hourly - compensation based on experience and degree level

Reports To: Office Manager and Human Resources Director
Responsibilities:
- Dependable and reliable attendance.
- Onboarding processes for new staff, including completion of I-9 forms, background checks, and required documentation.
- Process and distribute ID badges; manage staff building access.
- Conduct reference checks for classified staff positions.
- Set up of HR hosted meetings, including catering arrangements, room setup, and cleanup.
- Support HR Superintendent with interview administrative preparation.
- Post job openings across multiple platforms such as Handshake, LinkedIn, NDE Teach in Nebraska, and the PLCS website.
- Design and implement creative recruitment campaigns and recognitions on social media for high-need positions and HR related events.
- Coordinate career fair and conference registrations for the HR team.
- Assist HR Specialist with student teacher onboarding and processing.
- Support the extra duty process in collaboration with the HR Specialist.
- Manage the onboarding and tracking of coaching staff, including internal, external, and volunteers.
- Maintain records for all external service providers and vendors.
- Complete all employment verifications for staff including documentation for loan forgiveness.
- Assist with Human Resources projects while maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
- Welcome all community, staff, and family members to the District Central Office, creating a friendly and helpful environment.
- Support answering incoming phone calls and provide high-quality customer service.
- Assist with the district application process, interview prep, and organization of interview records.
- Maintain accurate and secure personnel records.
- Other duties as assigned.
