Early Learning Grant Facilitator - Papillion La Vista Community Schools - 2025-26 School Year
Job Description: The Early Learning Grant Facilitator is responsible for planning, organizing, facilitating, and developing activities and training related to early literacy. The facilitator must be knowledgeable about literacy, researched based teaching practices, professional learning and experience teaching in at least one grade PK-3. This individual must be a strong presenter and be comfortable working with adults. Must be able to lead, motivate, collaborate, build consensus, and communicate effectively.
Certification: Nebraska Department of Education certified teaching endorsement.
Experience: Minimum of five years of experience as a teacher.
Contract Days: 210 Days (Extra Days for Jumpstart, PD Offerings, New Teachers)
Reports To: Assistant Superintendent of CIA in collaboration with the CIA Curriculum Directors.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains dependable and reliable attendance.
- Support early literacy instruction and intervention in classrooms starting in preschool.
- Working with the Professional Development Facilitator to create, implement, and evaluate professional development for all certified teachers in evidence-based reading instruction.
- PD would include a comprehensive approach to literacy instruction grounded in the science of reading.
- Work to ensure a strong literacy bridge between the preschool program and school age.
- Support the selection and evaluation of literacy interventions in collaboration with the Intervention Facilitators.
- Support literacy for the Jumpstart to Kindergarten program, summer school, and curriculum development tool box.
- Manage Individual Reading Intervention Plan (IRIP) data and intervention data for the support systems.
- Analyze student achievement data to evaluate implementation of grant and impact of literacy systems including professional development.
- Manage the PLCS Early Literacy Project, including the grant budget, evaluation, renewal process and communication with the Learning Community Board in collaboration with the Director of Special Services and Assistant Supt.
- Develop a sustainable system to meet the requirements of the Nebraska Literacy Project for new staff.
- Collaborate with other members of the CIA team to ensure a strong solid literacy foundation for all students in PLCS.
- Other duties as assigned.
