Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified Kitchen Manager I to oversee the efficient operation of an elementary school or central kitchen. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing attractive and nutritious meals for students and staff.Key Responsibilities: Ensure the daily production of meals meets quality and safety standards, supervise employees, maintain accurate records, and establish effective working relationships with colleagues and the public.Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, current certification by the American School Food Service Association preferred. Two years of work experience in an institutional or school kitchen with progressive responsibility and supervisory experience. Approved educational coursework in food service supervision or a related field may be substituted for work experience on a year-for-year basis. General computer experience is preferred.Work Environment: The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to effectively supervise employees and maintain detailed records as required by regulatory agencies. Knowledge of sanitation, safety, and meal requirements of the Nebraska Department of Health and the United States Department of Agriculture School Lunch Program and Food Distribution Program.
