This role serves as the technical design lead in the specification, design, documentation, testing, and commissioning of electrical control enclosures. At the core you will design and develop control systems for marine equipment, ensuring they meet technical and contractual requirements. Partnership is key to success and includes collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and project engineers to deliver fully integrated solutions, providing equipment functionality that satisfies technical specifications.
Success Criteria
Collaboration and partnership is key to this role. You’ll get to work with Engineering Managers, Program Managers, and Project Engineers on project execution, including preparing technical sections of proposals, assessing risks, and providing labor estimates. Continuous improvement is part of our core values and within this role you get to implement design changes through formal Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and support product/process enhancements.
Your ability to organize resources and manpower with the controls group based on project prioritization and business needs will be key to success. Being able to prioritize and manage multiple projects, ensuring on-time task completion, even during non-standard business hours when necessary will allow you to hit the ground running.

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology 6 years of design experience for the control of heavy machinery or marine equipment with specific experience in: variable speed drives, position servo controls both induction and permanent magnet synchronous motors, specification of motors and feedback devices. Expert understanding of control logic, PLC, and HMI programming. 5 - 7 years of experience developing RSLogix5000 applications. Proficient in 2D CAD Software: AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical. Working knowledge of Project Management and ability to multitask in a matrix organization. Good communicator, capable of presenting technical solutions to key customers. Working familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word. Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR and government contracting (preferred) <10% travel, domestic/international is required.Work Location: Onsite (Brunswick, GA.) US Person
