As we continue to expand our global client base, we are seeking a Bilingual Project Manager / Architect (Japanese & English) to lead and manage projects for our Japanese clients in the entertainment and hospitality sectors. This role requires a strong leader with exceptional communication skills, a deep understanding of architectural design, and the ability to navigate international business relationships.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Manager / Architect will oversee the planning, design, and execution of architectural projects, serving as the primary liaison between Paradigm Design and our Japanese clients. This role requires the ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate with internal teams and consultants, and ensure seamless communication between all stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client & Project Management
· Act as the primary point of contact for Japanese-speaking clients, ensuring their vision and needs are clearly understood and executed.
· Facilitate seamless communication between Japanese and English-speaking teams, including translating technical information as needed.
· Lead entertainment and hospitality projects from concept development through construction administration.
· Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure timely and high-quality execution.
· Conduct client meetings, presentations, and site visits, providing clear and professional guidance.
DESIGN & TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP
· Collaborate with internal design and engineering teams to develop innovative and functional architectural solutions.
· Ensure projects comply with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
· Oversee and coordinate construction documents, specifications, and permitting processes.
· Utilize Revit, AutoCAD, and other design software to support project development.
TEAM COORDINATION & MENTORSHIP
· Work closely with project architects, designers, and consultants to maintain project efficiency.
· Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff, helping them navigate technical and design challenges.
· Foster a collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and excellence.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Fluent in both Japanese and English (spoken and written) – REQUIRED.
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
· Architectural licensure preferred but not required. California License is a strong plus.
· 5 years of experience in architecture, project management, or a related field.
· Experience in entertainment, hospitality, or commercial projects is a strong plus.
· Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and industry-standard software.
· Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
· Willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience working with Japanese corporate clients or within the Japanese business culture.
· Knowledge of international building codes and regulations related to hospitality and entertainment projects.
· Understanding of construction administration processes and consultant coordination.
