Position Overview

We are looking for a Civil Engineer / EIT to join our team to assist in the planning, design, entitlement and construction of various projects. This role involves working closely with project managers, engineers and other professionals to create detailed plans and drawings using AutoCAD / Civil 3D. This role also offers flexibility to work from our Grand Rapids or Scottsdale office, or remotely in our Idaho and Northern Arizona markets. The ideal candidate will be based in Idaho Metropolitain area.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, plans and specifications for various civil engineering projects, including site development, transportation and utilities.
• Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) to create detailed drawings and models based on project requirements and standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop design concepts, layouts and construction details that meet project objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Gather surveys, topographic data, utility locations, local jurisdictional requirements and codes as well as zoning requirements and other relevant information for project planning and design.
• Analyze survey data and aerial imagery to assess site conditions, identify constraints, and develop design solutions that optimize land use and infrastructure layout.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, calculations and design memoranda to support project planning, permitting and regulatory compliance.
• Review and interpret engineering plans, specifications and standards to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with project requirements.
• Maintain organized project files and documentation, including drawings, correspondence, and design revisions to facilitate efficient project management and communication.

• Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants and regulatory agencies to obtain necessary approvals and permits for project implementation.
• Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors and suppliers, to clarify design requirements, address inquiries and resolve technical issues.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews and construction site visits as needed to support project progress and ensure quality control.
