Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced Dental Assistants to provide full-time dental assisting services at the Santa Fe Indian Health Center and affiliated satellite locations in New Mexico.
Location of Services:
- Primary Duty Station:
Santa Fe Indian Health Center
1700 Cerrillos Road, Santa Fe, NM 87505 - Secondary Locations (as needed):
Santa Clara Health Center – 400 State Rd. 30, Espanola, NM 87532
Cochiti Health Clinic – 270 Windmill Rd., Cochiti, NM 87072
Work Schedule:
- Full-time | 40 hours per week
- Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (with 30-minute unpaid lunch)
- No evenings, weekends, holidays, or overtime required
Contract Term:
- Initial one (1) year
- Option to renew for up to four (4) additional years, based on performance
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: $22.04 (bi-weekly pay with direct deposit)

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years dental assisting experience (Required)
- Dental Assistant license issued by any U.S. state (Required)
- Dental Assistant Certification (Preferred)
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation (Required)
- Must pass a federal background check
- Must meet health professional vaccination requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dental chairside assistance for routine procedures
- Prepare, disinfect, and maintain dental operatories and equipment
- Take and process dental radiographs
- Perform patient education, take impressions, and assist in lab procedures
- Manage documentation in Dentrix and maintain patient records
- Sterilize instruments and maintain stock of dental supplies
- Collaborate with dentists, lead dental assistants, and other staff
- Measure and record patient vital signs
- Perform minimal front desk duties as needed
Work Environment & Reporting:
- Report to the Chief Dental Officer and Lead Dental Assistant
- Maintain professionalism and collaboration with JSU dental team
- Adhere to IHS and OSHA standards, HIPAA, and infection control protocols
