Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of animals.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
- Perform animal catheterization and maintain aseptic techniques during procedures.
- Provide support at the front desk, including scheduling appointments and managing client communications.
- Handle dogs and other animals with care, ensuring their well-being during visits.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas.
- Monitor animal behavior and health status, reporting any concerns to the veterinary team.
- Utilize veterinary terminology effectively in communication with staff and clients.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of veterinary critical care practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with animal anatomy, physiology, and common veterinary terminology is essential.
- Experience in medication administration and animal catheterization is a plus.
- Previous experience in a front desk role within a veterinary or medical setting is advantageous.
- Strong dog handling skills are required for safe interactions with various breeds.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary for effective client interactions.
