Purpose Statement
The job of CE Fields Technician is done for the purpose/s of serving as liaison between the District and community groups for the purpose of ensuring athletic fields availability for use in accordance with approved facility agreements; providing information and serving as a resource to others in compliance with established guidelines.
This job reports to Director of Community Education
Essential Functions
Inspects athletic fields for the purpose of ensuring a safe environment for participants.
Communicates general maintenance tasks with the Facilities Department to include but not limited to landscaping and carpentry for the purpose of providing a safe and adequate area for athletic events.
Procures equipment, supplies and materials for the purpose of maintaining availability of required items and completing jobs efficiently.
Requests a variety of materials (e.g. supplies, equipment, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required for the job.
Responds to immediate safety and/or operational concerns during the week and on weekends (e.g. holes in the fields, locked bathrooms and security gates, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action or notifying appropriate personnel for resolution.
Reviews facility agreements, permits and schedules for the purpose of ensuring usage of athletic fields by approved groups in compliance with established standards, scheduling of custodial needs and field use.
Other Functions
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including utilizing pertinent software applications; developing effective working relationships; maintaining accurate records.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios; read and follow instructions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: pertinent laws, codes, policies, and/or regulations; standard business practices.

to effect the organization’s services.
Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes.
Experience: Job related experience is desired.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
