Federal Programs Coordinator

The Federal Programs Coordinator supports the Director in overseeing federally funded programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while coordinating program components and maintaining services within established guidelines. This role provides information and serves as a resource to district and school leaders, supervises assigned staff, and facilitates the effective implementation of federal programs and services.

Essential Functions
- Assists the Director of Federal Programs in strategic planning, coordinating, and overseeing federally funded programs (e.g., Title I, Title II, Title III, Title IV, Native American Education), ensuring strict adherence to district, state, and federal regulations, including OCR and ADE requirements.
- Supports the development of proposals, new programs, and long-range plans in collaboration with district leadership to enhance federally funded initiatives.
- Assists with personnel functions, including recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluations, to maintain adequate staffing and enhance staff effectiveness in meeting federal program objectives.
- Supports professional growth by designing and delivering training sessions for teachers, administrators, and program staff on federal program requirements and best practices.
- Evaluates federally funded programs to assess effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and ensure alignment with district goals.
- Conducts rigorous monitoring of program implementation, analyzes budget expenditures against grant allocations, and ensures strict adherence to all district, state, and federal guidelines, maximizing resource utilization and program effectiveness.
- Supports the Director in collaborating with district departments, school personnel, and external agencies (e.g., ADE, Office of English Language Acquisition Services) to implement and maintain high-quality services.
- Responds to staff inquiries, policy clarifications, and community concerns, assisting in the resolution of issues related to federal programs and compliance.
- Helps coordinate and monitor program components to ensure services are delivered effectively and equitably across the district.
- Develops long-range plans to support Title I schools, English Language Learner (ELL) programs, and other federal initiatives, ensuring equitable access to educational opportunities.
- Assists in managing grant funding and program budgets to ensure compliance with federal funding guidelines and effective resource distribution.
- Cultivates strategic partnerships with district departments, school personnel, and external agencies (e.g., ADE, Office of English Language Acquisition Services) to optimize program implementation.
- Facilitates regular meetings with school leaders and program staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Responsibility

Work Environment
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Experience:
Substantial relevant experience, minimum of three years, including an appropriate combination of teaching, supervisor, and other administrative experience.
Experience creating/implementing/monitoring district-wide professional development plans.
Experience coaching school leaders and teams to meet student learning outcomes, demonstrating high levels of learning for all.
Experience facilitating collaborative teams.
Experience facilitating the collaborative team process with multiple types of collaborative teams.
Exposure to Project Momentum GEARS Framework
Experience leading teams to identify essential standards, clarify proficiency, and establish common pacing.
Experience leading teams to build understanding of a balanced assessment system, designing assessments for validity and reliability, and collaborating around results.
Experience leading teams to build shared knowledge about a system of supports, use common assessments to identify students who struggle, develop a response, and take into account other considerations for effective responses.
Experience leading teams to build shared knowledge about team responses that extend learning, identify students who would benefit from extensions or advanced learning opportunities, select strategies to extend learning, and deliver and monitor the impact of extension activities.
Strong content background in ELA and/or Math.

Education: A Master’s degree in Education, with emphasis leadership and/or curriculum,
instruction, and assessment from an accredited college or university.
