Role Description:
We are seeking a motivated and analytical Equity Analyst to join our team in New York City. This is a full-time hybrid role, offering flexibility for some remote work. You will be integral to our investment process, diving deep into both traditional financial data and our unique alternative datasets to uncover investment opportunities others miss.
You'll be responsible for analyzing financial trends, developing sophisticated financial models that incorporate alternative data signals, and generating compelling investment recommendations based on our Information Arbitrage methodology. This role involves conducting thorough equity research, evaluating potential investments, and collaborating closely with portfolio managers and data scientists to translate digital signals into actionable trading theses.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyze company financials, market trends, and competitive landscapes.
* Integrate and interpret alternative data (search trends, web traffic, social sentiment, etc.) into financial models and investment theses.
* Develop and maintain detailed financial models for valuation and forecasting.
* Conduct in-depth equity research across various sectors.
* Generate and present clear, data-driven investment recommendations.
* Identify market mispricings by correlating digital trends with traditional market data.
* Collaborate effectively with research, trading, and technology teams.
* Stay abreast of market developments and emerging alternative data sources.
Qualifications:
* Proven strong analytical skills and experience in financial modeling.
* Deep understanding of investments, equities, and financial markets.
* Solid grasp of finance principles and valuation methodologies.
* Demonstrable interest in or experience with alternative data analysis is highly desirable.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
* Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively independently.
* Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg, FactSet; Python or SQL is a plus).
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
