Position Summary
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is responsible for providing one-to-one services to an identified child, adolescent, and their family. The primary function of the BHT is to implement clinical service delivery goals consistent with agency policies and procedures. Effective communication with supervisors and teamwork are key components of this role.
Essential Job Functions:
- Foster professional relationships with colleagues and partners in alignment with Paragons mission, vision, and culture.
- Maintain personal compliance with all training requirements and personnel documentation standards.
- Complete all required training before working alone with clients, including periodic and annual trainings.
- Submit required documentation (degree, licenses, certifications, clearances, etc.) to HR in a timely manner.
- Provide services defined by program descriptions, best practice standards, and licensure requirements.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, families, and community support services.
- Actively participate in interagency meetings and represent the agency professionally with clients, payers, and collateral staff.
- Consistently provide and document clinically indicated services in a timely manner, ensuring accurate payroll and billing submissions.
- Monitor service effectiveness and adapt interventions based on supervisory feedback.
- Collect data under the direction of a Behavior Analyst.
- Model interventions for parents or caregivers to address client goals in the Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP).
- Provide instructions to help clients manage and control targeted behaviors and develop socially acceptable skills.
- Remain compliant with supervision and training requirements as set forth by state, federal, and company regulations.

Education/Experience/Credentials:
- High School Diploma or Equivalency (Required)
- A Bachelors Degree in a human service field (Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education or similar human services) with no previous work experience, or o A Bachelors Degree in any other field with the equivalent of at least one (1) year full-time paid work experience* in a job that involved direct contact with children or adolescents (Preferred)
- An Associates Degree or sixty (60) college credits with the equivalent of at least three (3) years paid full- time experience* in a job that involved direct contact with children or adolescents (Preferred)

- Full-time work with children/adolescents means: MH, MR, early intervention, children & youth, juvenile justice system, education, drug and alcohol, daycare or health systems.
