Job Description:
The Accident Reconstruction and/or Biomechanical Expert is expected to technically assist on the review and analysis of forensic cases pertaining to personal injury lawsuits or claims. This role will include responsibility for review and analysis of file material, performance of inspections, and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of experts. Additionally, this engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, analysis, and publication of novel research relevant to the industry.
Responsibilities:
The Accident Reconstruction role includes, but is not limited to, analysis of motor vehicle incidents to assess questions regarding liability and impact severity, including cases involved heavy trucks, motorcycles, pedestrians, bicycles/scooters, etc. The engineer is expected to be well-versed in engineering principles associated with vehicle dynamics and momentum analyses. The Accident Reconstruction expert will conduct site and vehicle inspections to photograph, measure, 3D laser scan, and obtain vehicle electronic data. The expert will review and summarize relevant documents, including depositions, to assist in the reconstruction of collision events. Analysis of photographs and videos through photogrammetry/videogrammetry techniques will be performed to assess spatial and dynamic conditions shown. The expert will perform collision reconstruction simulations to accurately analyze and visualize collision events.
The Biomechanics role includes, but is not limited to, analysis of human / vehicle-occupant kinematics, forces applied to an individual in an incident, and injury risk. The expert is expected to review and summarize relevant documents, including depositions and medical records. The Biomechanical expert will perform in-depth review on mechanism of injury, injury tolerances, and analysis of the exposure applied to an individual. The expert should have a strong background in performing literature searches and review of biomechanical articles and datasets.
Compensation:
$80,000 to $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience, paid monthly

Requirements:
· Accident Reconstruction Engineer:
o Bachelor's degree or greater in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
· Biomechanical Engineer:
o Master’s degree or PhD in Biomechanical/Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
o Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and injury biomechanics.
o Peer reviewed publication(s) in human biomechanics
· Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex datasets.
· Ability to handle a high case load and short deadlines
· Effective management of time and support staff
· Strong reading comprehension and written/verbal communication with command of the English language
· Competency using basic tools and equipment (i.e., camera, tape measure, level, etc.)
· Competency using a PC with proficiency in Microsoft Office
· Strong work ethic
· Meets or exceeds billing requirements
· Requires local and regional travel and reliable transportation
· Eligible to work in the United States
· Background and DMV check
Preferred Qualification:
· Qualifications for both accident reconstruction and biomechanics
· License Professional Engineer (PE) and/or ACTAR certification
· Prior forensic industry experience
