- Develop and implement strategies for sourcing, purchasing, and inventory control.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors while ensuring quality and compliance.
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production schedules while minimizing excess stock.
- Implement best practices in material storage, handling, and distribution.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and logistics teams to forecast material needs.
- Track inventory accuracy and conduct regular audits to prevent shortages or overages.
- Develop and implement efficient material flow processes to support operational efficiency.
- Leverage ERP/MRP systems for effective material tracking and reporting.
- Identify and address bottlenecks in the supply chain to improve lead times and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and develop a team of material coordinators and warehouse staff.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align material availability with production goals.
- Provide data-driven insights to senior management regarding material costs and trends.
- Other duties as assigned by the VP of Operations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, supplier negotiations, and ERP/MRP systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Experience in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or a related industry.
- Certification in supply chain management (APICS, CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
