Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with occupational therapists to assist in the implementation of individualized care plans for patients. Your primary focus will be on enhancing patient care and promoting functional independence through therapeutic activities in various settings, including outpatient clinics and skilled nursing facilities.
Duties
- Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing patient care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Provide direct patient care by guiding clients through therapeutic exercises and activities.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising occupational therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, exercises, and strategies for improving daily living skills.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with medical terminology standards.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for patients, including those in geriatrics or requiring medical imaging support.
- Uphold safety standards and protocols within the clinic or facility to ensure a secure environment for both patients and staff.
Experience
- A valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant is required.
- Previous experience in outpatient settings or skilled nursing facilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology, geriatrics, and medical terminology is highly beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
