Job Description: Infrastructure Engineer Jr.
Overview:
We are seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our client's dynamic team and assist with increased workload driven by resource shifts in their department. The ideal candidate will support critical initiatives such as rolling out new equipment, including imaging, software installation, and handling migrations. They will also provide technical support to business partners via calls, emails, instant messaging, and walkup assistance.
This is a 9 month contract with potential to be extended or go contract-to-hire.
Must be onsite 5 days a week in downtown Des Moines.
This role requires a proactive, collaborative approach with a strong focus on communication and teamwork. As part of the 50-member team, you will contribute to supporting approximately 4,000 users across the U.S., ensuring seamless hardware and software operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the deployment of new hardware and software, including imaging, installations, and migrations.
- Respond promptly and effectively to technical queries via calls, emails, instant messaging, and in-person support.
- Utilize various systems and technologies, including: Windows Operating System
- Microsoft Office Suite, proprietary software, Mobile devices, laptops, desktops, iPads, and virtual desktops, Cisco networking (LAN/WAN/Wireless)
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of issues and solutions.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all tasks and communications.
Qualifications
Must-Haves:
- 4 year Degree in in technology or related field
- Relevant internship or professional experience in IT customer service, support, troubleshooting, or a related field.
- Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a big-picture, conceptual approach.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Adaptability and a positive attitude towards change.
Nice-to-Haves:
Familiarity with proprietary software and experience supporting virtual desktop environments.
Exposure to Cisco networking technologies.
