DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES, ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Production Scheduling:
- Develops, publishes, and maintains the Master Production Schedule, balancing inventory, resources, and capacity to meet production goals.
- Revise production schedules when provided with updated information on capacity or materials.
- Assists Program Management in scheduling sales orders and supporting customer requirements.
- Participates in forecasting/planning meetings with Business Development, Finance, and other related departments.
- Expediates orders to accommodate customer request.
- Negotiates corrective actions to product schedules when dictated by changes in business.
Material Planning:
- Collaborate with purchasing and planners to ensure raw materials are available to meet production timelines while minimizing excess inventory.
- Monitor material shortages and delays and proactively adjust schedules to mitigate risks.
Capacity Management:
- Document key information for analysis which includes downtime, peak production, inventory, and scheduling accuracy.
- Monitor material flow, identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot issues to root cause, and implement corrective actions.
- Generate reports including but not limited to production line capacity, material clear, production status, and on-time delivery.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Develop strategies and work with the operations team on capacity and equipment utilization.
- Act as the primary liaison between production, quality, warehouse, and customer service to ensure timely communication of schedule changes and priorities.
- Provide regular updates on production progress and potential challenges to stakeholders.
- Proactively works with functional owners to review and determine root causes and deploy countermeasures for areas not meeting targets.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, on-time delivery, and schedule adherence.
- Analyze historical data to improve scheduling accuracy and efficiency.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure scheduling activities comply with regulatory standards, including FDA and GMP requirements.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferred in Supply Chain Management or Business.
- 5 - 10 years of related experience in Production Scheduling and/or Sales Inventory and Operations Planning.
- Professional certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) is preferred.
- Experience in a GMP environment.
- Experience working closely with R&D, manufacturing, and planning teams to accurately model manufacturing processes.
- Extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite generating professional documents and reports.
- Extensive Microsoft Excel Knowledge like slicers, pivot tables, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, etc.
- Have a demonstrative ability to understand complex manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of general accounting, production manufacturing procedures, techniques, and tooling; material and capacity planning and forecasting, and product bill of materials.
- Must possess skills to define Root Cause and implement effective Corrective Actions.
- Must be highly collaborative, inventive in finding the information you need, and comfortable when facing uncertainty or ambiguity.
- Experience in the use of project planning software such as Asana, or Microsoft Project.
- Must have experience with ERP systems, such as Intuitive, Acumatica, or SAP-Business one, etc.
