Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, sets up and operates Fourslide Machine to process parts to blueprint specifications, following instructions and applying knowledge of manufacturing procedures.
Reporting To:
Production Supervisor
Essential Job Functions:
- Setup and operate Fourslide machines.
- Identifying problems and making improvements (root cause analysis).
- Review, investigation, and completion of required daily documentation.
- Ensure good housekeeping and machine maintenance practices.
- Adhering to all safety policies and reporting any infractions or concerns to management.
- Perform in-process quality checks utilizing comparators, micrometers, and additional inspection equipment as required.
- Complete required documents and SPC.
Skills & Abilities:
- Blueprint reading GD&T.
- The use of various quality testing equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, manufacturing environment.
- Effective communication and understanding of job instructions both verbally and written.
- Problem solving skills needed to know why machines are not at peak performance, how to increase output and how to fix errors.
- Attention to detail with precision equipment and product.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Completed state Fourslide apprenticeship, preferred.
- At least 2 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work overtime when required to meet customer demand.
- Experience with machines such as grinders, mills, etc. preferred.
