As a Paragon Security Officer (PSO) you will observe and report activities and incidents while assigned to the DHS Federal Protective Service. This includes providing for the security and safety of federally owned / leased facilities, federal property and personnel.
Additionally, primary responsibilities include preventing unauthorized access to facilities, responding to unusual or emergency situations, using appropriate escalation of force level up to and including armed response as dictated by the situation and protocol, making periodic tours to check for irregularities, and inspecting protection devices and fire control equipment. Lastly, duties also include preserving order and acting to enforce regulations / directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
Minimum Qualifications:
- State of Illinois FOID Card (Active)
- State of Illinois PERC Card (Active)
- State of Illinois 20/hr. Basic Training Certificate
- 2 or more years of Armed Security experience, Law Enforcement experience (police officer/corrections officer) and/or 2 or more years of Honorable US Military Service
- State of Illinois 40/hr. certificate w/230 number with semi-automatic
Wage for this position is $32.60 with a Health and Welfare benefit of $5.00 where applicable.

- The paid leave for full-time employees is from 80-240 hours / year based on longevity in the position, and sick leave is a minimum of 56 hours per year for a full-time employee.
