What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembly position at Parallel Employment?
SUMMARY:
Assembles pre-manufactured or purchased parts into products and packs, and prepares product for transfer to the Distribution Department.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
• Attends shift start meetings, receives work assignment and instructions.
• Assembles boxes, pallets, and labels, etc. to receive finished goods.
• Inspects and performs minor repairs such as trimming flash or cutting gates, applies labels to products retrieved from the machines or material handling equipment.
• Assembles parts to form products.
• Assembles pre-manufactured bulk packed parts into finished goods for sale. Assembles other parts as needed.
• Packs products into boxes for sale or case packs products according to instructions provided.
• Stacks or loads boxes or cases onto pallets.
• Meets or exceeds standards for output rate of production plan set by company management.
• Removes rejected parts to the regrind area.
• Disposes of waste to the proper disposal areas.
• Operates manual shrink machine by checking oven temperatures, selecting correct size bag, and hand sealing the bag.
• Operates the auto machine by checking the oven temperatures, feeding the product onto the conveyor belt, and completing roll changes.
• Operates packaging equipment such as the taping machine.
• Performs job setup for machines and equipment to operate efficiently.
• Manually stretch wraps pallets for movement to other areas.
• Properly accounts for all products by completing necessary paperwork so production and inventory results can be accurately reported.
• Properly palletizes rejected product for transportation to regrind.
• Reports all problems to supervisor.
• Performs conversion of product as requested by Production Planning or Distribution.
