Parallel Employment is seeking an enthusiastic individual for our client located near Madison, WI. This role will maintain and repair our machinery, ensuring smooth operations and minimizing downtime. Your expertise will be vital in performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across a variety of equipment in our facility.
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, adjusting, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, using various tools and techniques. Your hands-on approach and commitment to quality and safety will be essential in keeping our production running efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair production machines and facility equipment.
- Conduct emergency and scheduled maintenance on production equipment to minimize downtime.
- Perform mechanical duties including machining, welding, and using hand/power tools.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose issues, replace parts, and make adjustments to ensure equipment efficiency.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machines and plant facilities.
- Maintain plumbing and carpentry systems as needed.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean work areas.
- Coordinate with external technicians for complex repairs.
- Document maintenance activities and communicate with supervisors on equipment status.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance or related field
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and machine repairs
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment and stand for long periods
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; further technical education is a plus
