Title: Application Integration Specialist – Student Systems (W2 Only)
Location: Albany, NY (Hybrid/Remote within the U.S. at SUNY’s discretion)
Employment Type: Contract (W2 Only – No C2C, No Sponsorships)
Contract Term: 2 years with an option for a 1-year extension
Overview:
SUNY is seeking an experienced Application Integration Specialist to support the Unified Student Information Management (SIM) System and related student systems integration projects. This role focuses on consolidating disparate platforms into a cohesive IT environment to enhance data sharing, eliminate silos, and improve the student journey.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Design and implement scalable data interfaces and integration solutions across multiple systems.
- Develop strategic data models and system architectures.
- Work with various SUNY campuses to ensure seamless data migration and integration.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including external vendors and SUNY’s Data Pillar team.
- Utilize tools like Microsoft Suite, TeamDynamix, and MuleSoft for project management and data integration.
- Ensure solutions adhere to compliance standards (FERPA, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in application development, system integration, and data architecture (Candidates with slightly less experience may be considered based on strong qualifications).
- Proven experience with data strategy, ETL processes (Oracle, MuleSoft), and integration middleware.
- Hands-on experience with Student Information Systems (SIS) such as Banner, PeopleSoft, Jenzabar, or PowerCampus.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud) and on-premises environments.
- Familiarity with CRM (Slate), LMS (Brightspace), and legacy system migration.
- Strong understanding of data governance and security protocols.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with higher education institutions.
- Familiarity with SUNY’s existing systems and digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience with low-code/no-code integration tools, such as MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
- Advanced certifications in data integration, cloud architecture, or project management.
