Job Type: Part Time (20-30 Hours / Week)

Hourly Rate: $25/hr

The CBS News podcast team is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented part-time Podcast Department Assistant to support our team with various operational, marketing, and production tasks. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and passionate about podcasting and digital media. This role involves assisting with production logistics, marketing initiatives, hosting operations, and administrative support to ensure smooth workflow and successful podcast execution.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Support

• Maintain inventory of core brand resources, including key art, promotional assets, and other marketing materials.
• Deliver promotional assets to press, partners, and collaborators to support marketing initiatives.
• Assist in creating promotional content (newsletter copy, social media assets, etc.) for podcast promotion.
  
  

Production Support

• Coordinate the shipping and receiving of podcasting gear and equipment.
• Assist with scheduling and setting up remote and in-person recordings.
• Organize and maintain an inventory of podcast equipment and resources.
• Ensure timely delivery and setup of necessary materials for hosts and guests.
• Support with managing and organizing audio files to ensure efficient access and storage.
• Assist with fact-checking scripts and drafting episode titles and descriptions.
  
  

Operations Support

• Train producers and manage user permissions on the hosting platform.
• Assist in managing podcast publishing schedules across various platforms.
• Support with uploading episodes, ensuring metadata accuracy, and optimizing descriptions.
• Coordinate with podcast hosts and guests for scheduling and logistics.
• Assist with trafficking ads and audio promos to ensure proper placement and scheduling.
  
  

Administrative & General Support

• Support with expense reporting for podcast initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to podcast production and marketing.
• Research industry trends and development opportunities.
• Assist in team coordination, meeting preparation, and other operational tasks as needed.
• Provide general assistance to the podcast team to improve efficiency and workflow.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Prior experience in podcast production, marketing, or media operations.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with podcasting tools (Megaphone, Riverside, etc.) as well as audio editing software like ProTools and/or Audition is a bonus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
