Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician with advanced Excel skills to join our team! The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Excel for managing and analyzing pharmacy data, creating reports, and tracking inventory. While Excel proficiency is the primary focus, familiarity with pharmacy technician duties such as prescription processing, inventory management, and customer service is also essential. This position involves a combination of technical Excel tasks and traditional pharmacy technician responsibilities. Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced Excel skills to manage pharmacy data, including patient profiles, medication inventory, and prescription logs.
- Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets for tracking prescriptions, inventory, and pharmacy performance metrics.
- Perform data entry and generate reports from Excel to track prescription trends, medication usage, and inventory levels.
- Use Excel to automate tasks and improve workflow efficiency within the pharmacy.
- Receive written and faxed prescriptions, verify information, and input it into the pharmacy system.
- Maintain proper storage and organization of medications in the pharmacy, including managing inventory with Excel tools.
- Receive incoming inventory, verify accuracy, log inventory data into Excel, and store medications properly.
- Manage pharmacy records such as patient profiles and medication logs, with a focus on data accuracy and accessibility.
- Process payments for prescriptions and handle small transactions using the pharmacy system.
- Answer phones and provide customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use advanced functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation).
- Strong organizational and data management skills.
- Ability to analyze data and create reports to support pharmacy operations and decision-making.
- Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred, with a strong understanding of pharmacy processes and medical terminology.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in both technical and pharmacy-related tasks.
- Experience with pharmacy management software and automated systems.
- Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and inventory management best practices.
