KPIX 5 is looking for an expert news writer to join us.

Overview & Responsibilities :

• Write compelling, succinct, clear news scripts under tight deadlines for broadcast and digital platforms.
• Write content according to station policies, editorial style and rundown.
• Research and evaluate news stories and sources.
• Video editing of content for news broadcasts using Edius / Grass Valley system.
• Assist in the producing of news segments and breaking news special reports.
• Exercise sound news judgment and comply with KPIX News editorial standards.

Hiring Salary Range : $75,000 - $80,000.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
