Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing valuable insights for financial decision-making. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as proficiency in various accounting software.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Oversee cash management processes and ensure accurate cash flow forecasting.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Support technical accounting functions, including revenue recognition and lease accounting.
- Collaborate with the Controller to develop and implement financial management strategies.
- Utilize accounting software such as Sage and Crystal Reports for efficient financial reporting.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist with audits as required.
- Provide guidance to junior accounting staff and support their professional development.
- Assist Controller with emails and special projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
- Proven experience in an accounting role, with a focus on technical accounting and financial management.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Sage and Crystal Reports.
- Excellent analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial concepts.
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliations accurately and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with team members across departments.
