Position Summary
As a member of the Adult Community Programs team, you will create, maintain, and continuously evolve the arts program curriculum within the Inspired Artist Studio at Parc Center for Disabilities. This role is ultimately responsible for the education, artistic life skills development, and programmatic structure that supports the neurodiverse adults in our care. In this role, you will be responsible for arts curriculum development, team member lesson plan creation and implementation, and participant engagement.
This is a highly interactive role in an evolving landscape as we undergo several transitions, including renovating our Adult Day Training facility over the next two years to provide improved and expanded services.
Working on site at Parc Center for Disabilities’ campus, you’ll find a dedicated team, unified in building an engaged, people-centered work environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ability to work with individuals with a variety of disabilities, including but not limited to intellectual disability, autism, hearing impairment, and mild-to-moderate behavioral concerns.
- Create and maintain an overall arts curriculum and class schedule, including art outings, visiting artists, art education, partnerships, etc.
- Mentor and coach direct support professionals in the implementation of appropriate art education and engagement practices, and goal documentation.
- Represent and advocate for the Inspired Artist Studio at Parc Center for Disabilities during tours of the Adult Community Programs and in the community where required.
- Collaborate with peers across departments (Adult Day Training, Children’s Services, ICFs, Transportation, Accounting, HR, and IT) and proactively communicate with Sr. Manager of Program Services pertinent information in a timely manner.
- Contribute when necessary to Employee Evaluations and Counselling Reports
- Contribute to in-service training sessions for continuing education relative to lesson plans and programmatic learning.
- Collaborate with and support Sr. Program Manager and Activities Coordinator in managing art-related activities, curriculum, communication, and events for participants.
- Participate in preparation of Inspired Artist Studio budgets. Ensure that adequate and myriad supplies are always available.
- Other appropriate responsibilities as determined by the Sr. Manager of Program Services.
Education, Training and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with professional experience in multidisciplinary arts preferred. Extensive professional arts experience ( 5 years) will be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
- Multiple years’ experience working with intellectually and developmentally disabled adults strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in art education required.
- Valid Florida Drivers’ License with acceptable driving record.

- Have a learning attitude and natural curiosity for how things work, with a desire to improve processes and procedures without judgement for how things were done in the past.
- Lead by example in action, principle, and tone. Be present and visible in the Inspired Artist Studio. Be willing to step in and ‘roll up your sleeves’ to support the direct care team members as well as engage with participants as needed. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds if needed.
- Strong background in the adults with disabilities realm, with an affinity for creativity, structure, and implementation.
- Able to use independent judgment to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload in a fast-paced environment with real-world problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills as well as excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication, employee interaction, decision-making, management, and organization.
- Ability to work an irregular schedule; ability to work during office hours, evenings and weekends as required.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Product Suite, Therap, and other electronic tools like Zoom and Paylocity.
