Position Summary 

Under the direction of the AVP of Human Resources the Sr. HR Generalist handles supporting HR operations, offering a wide range of services across all HR functions including administrative, strategic, and planning duties. This role is hands-on and executes the day-to-day activities of the HR department performing recruitment activities, handling employee inquiries related to benefits, policies, employee status changes, and leave management.


Essential Responsibilities 

  • Manage the recruitment processes, including posting jobs, screening, and interviewing candidates to fill all levels of job openings.
  • Strategically initiate effective recruitment campaigns using different platforms and outreach initiatives to enhance visibility and high-level applicant participation.
  • Support and aid in onboarding and new hire orientation development.
  • Manage employee calls and walk in inquiries about policies, benefits, HR procedures, and leave management.
  • Maintain accurate employee files in both HRIS and electronic filing systems.
  • Lead administering employee benefits programs during new hire orientation, employee status changes, and open enrollment ensuring employees are presented with options, guidance, and education at every level of the organization, to meet their individual needs.
  • Manage worker’s compensation claims ensuring prompt communication, reporting, and completed investigation packets.
  • Administer leave management processes and tracking while offering effective guidance, support, and prompt communication to employees and managers per company policies and legal requirements for FMLA, ADA, PWAF, or situational unpaid LOA cases.
  • Process garnishment and unemployment claims.
  • Process employee status changes ensuring thorough and correct steps are completed for prompt and accurate payroll processing.
  • Conduct exit interviews and ongoing communication throughout the employee life cycle to provide insights and guidance to improve retention strategies.
  • Track and manage 30/60/90-day reviews and annual performance review process and electronic filing.
  • Partner with the HR Director to lead, organize, and coordinate employee events and engagement initiatives.
  • Conduct and aid with record Audits and mandatory reporting, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 Filings, OSHA reporting, payroll audits, and all other compliance reviews.
  • Lead or contribute to all HR projects, initiatives, and training programs as assigned.
  • Conduct, support, or aid in new hire orientation as needed.
  • Partner with the Compliance Specialist to remain up to date and fluent in the compliance requirements of the organization to support and backup as needed.
  • Partner with the Sr. Manager of Learning and Development to support and backup as needed.
  • Partner with the HR Director and AVP of HR to review, update, and communicate human resource policy updates and management of the Employee Handbook.
  •  Administer HR reporting and data maintenance responsibilities to analyze data for ongoing projects or initiatives.
  • Aid with implementation or upgrading HRIS software to continue to meet business needs (i.e., performance management, recruiting, onboarding, LMS, and automation of routine HR functions) to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure all employee files are compliant, support, review, and update completed job descriptions and employee required documents.
  • Stay up- to-date and follow federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Enhance the employee life cycle by positive outreach initiatives, internal communication, employee engagement initiatives, and proactively being involved with employee relations and engagement throughout the campus.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Requirements

 Education, Training and Experience Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or equivalent role with a minimum of 5 years HR Generalist experience, or similar role.
  • Or minimum of combined education and 7 years’ experience as an HR Generalist or equivalent experience.
  • Or the combined equivalent of education and 5 years’ experience in a Sr. HR role.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

  • Have critical thinking skills, people skills, and show an elevated level of emotional intelligence and confidentiality skills.
  • Ability to show and project positivity, professionalism, and provide guidance as the face of The People Team to all levels of staffing withing the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent follow up and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS software, LMS software, and presenting materials and reporting from all respective software and technology used in your role.

Schedule:  

  • Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Your schedule may vary depending on business needs and other factors.
  • This is an on-site role.

Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
