Summary of Program and Position :
Economic Opportunity Center provides resources designed to strengthen an individual's ability to identify, secure and sustain employment. Qualified clients who either need assistance with employability or a career plan can access services that include a personal vocational assessment, basic economic literacy, budget planning, resume development, job placement and career development coaching.
The primary function of the Employment Support Specialist is to perform a variety of duties related to supporting clients in the Economic Opportunity Center (EOC) programs, particularly low-income families, re-entry individuals from corrections departments, and those who are unemployed or underemployed. This position is under the direct supervision of the Program Supervisor.
Essential Job Duties :
1. Behave in a manner that supports the agency's mission and follows personnel policies and procedures.
2. Provide job readiness, job placement and advancement, and case management services for program participants.
3. Support clients in creating and maintaining job readiness and employment goal plans and barrier reduction plans.
4. Is responsible for completing contract deliverables such as outreach and recruitment, intake and assessment activities, completion of job readiness training, job placement, 30-day follow-up on job placement, and completion of tuition assistance support.
5. Is responsible for accurately tracking client activities associated with EOC and recording actions taken on behalf of clients. Is responsible for the collection of verification documentation, for maintenance of client records, and for accurate data input of client information in eHana and any other required database systems.
6. Participate as directed in actively networking with employer partners and referral partners to ensure the flow of new clients and ongoing opportunities for clients in the job market.
7. Is responsible for the timely completion of documentation required for program reports and records.
8. Participate in all team meetings, community-building events with the FEOC team, and external events as directed by their supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education / Training / Experience :
1. High School Diploma or equivalent, required. (Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferred)
2. One (1) or more years' experience in a community-based or human services related field, required.
3. Experience providing job placement, job readiness, and / or case management support services, highly desired.
