We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Daycare Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for working with children, a nurturing demeanor, and the ability to support the lead teacher in providing a safe and stimulating learning environment for young learners.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Lead Teacher: Support the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and daily activities that promote the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
- Supervision: Monitor children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom environment conducive to learning and play.
- Individualized Care: Provide individualized attention and care to children, addressing their unique needs and fostering their growth and development.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on their child's progress, behavior, and any concerns or developments.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other staff members to plan and implement age-appropriate activities and curriculum that align with the daycare's philosophy and goals.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including administering first aid when necessary, maintaining proper hygiene practices, and following emergency procedures.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and stay informed about best practices in early childhood education. Minimum of 30 hours of training per year.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Valid TX state driver’s license to support driving program vehicles.
- Previous experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or similar setting is desirable.
- CPR and First Aid certification a plus (will provide in-house certification).
- Applicants should demonstrate the ability to perform tasks requiring repeated bending, stooping, and running. Additionally, candidates must be capable of lifting and carrying children as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from lead teachers and supervisors.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of children and the daycare environment.
