What are the responsibilities and job description for the Job Developer/Coach position at Parents & Friends Inc.?
The Job Developer for Community Integrated Employment Services (CIES) is responsible for developing and implementing a plan to create job opportunities for adults with developmental challenges and similar needs in the community. The job developer will educate community employers about the benefits of Community Integrated Employment (CIE) opportunities, Customized Employment (CE), and Paid Internships (PIP) with individuals served by Parents and Friends. They will also develop and maintain an employer database, as well as coordinate referrals for post-placement job supports. The Job Developer will work in conjunction with the Community Integration Services department and other staff to identify and coordinate placements for PFI, The Job Connection, L.I.F.E. and The Community Connection participants as defined by their individual ISP and IHSP goals as matched with community employer needs.
Job Development
The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable working directly with job seekers to help them develop both soft and hard work skills. They should also feel confident engaging with employer partners to explore new job opportunities and support participants in securing meaningful employment.
Organized and Detail-Oriented
This program is CARF-accredited, so maintaining accurate and detailed notes is critical. The candidate will need to complete daily and monthly reports, ensure participant files are up-to-date, and handle administrative tasks with diligence and precision.
Tech Savvy
The role requires a candidate who is comfortable with technology, including using job search platforms, tracking time, and maintaining accurate electronic records. They should also be able to use technology to create and facilitate workshops and lessons that build participants' soft and hard skills.
Administrative Assistance
The ideal candidate will assist with tasks such as organizing binders, tracking and writing participant goals, and maintaining an organized office space. Their efforts will help ensure the program runs smoothly and meets management expectations.
On-the-Job Support (Job Coaching)
This position requires someone adaptable and capable of providing on-the-job support to participants at their employment sites. They should be comfortable engaging with both employees and management to foster success and address any workplace challenges as they arise.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.80 - $18.50 per hour
