Senior Accountant:
We are seeking a senior accountant whose primary responsibility is to assist with monthly accounting processes, including closing activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:
- Complete monthly / quarterly financial close procedures in accordance with company policies, closing timelines, and GAAP
- Review balance sheet accounts and prepare adjusting entries and reconciliations as needed
- Ensure lease accounting system is updated timely when lease agreements are entered in to
- Responsible for preparing lease entries monthly in accordance with ASC 842
- Track assigned month-end accruals ensuring expenses are recorded properly
- Prepares monthly depreciation expense entries
- Update the fixed asset subledger when new assets are acquired and update tax software.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure transactions are posted timely and accurately to the correct jobs and accounts; Prepare correcting entries as needed.
- Prepare analyses of monthly expense trends, risks and opportunities.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and monthly analytics on variances
- Provide ad hoc reporting / documentation as requested
- Completes daily cash receipts and application as assigned; Ensures variances are communicated, researched and resolved timely
- Responsible for monthly account reconciliation of all bank accounts
- Prepares monthly account reconciliations for union, payroll, and sales / use tax accounts; Ensures variances are communicated, researched and resolved timely
- Assists with the preparation of assigned tax filings in accordance with government deadlines
- Assists with the maintenance of assigned internal control documentation.
- Complete periodic checks of controls to ensure they are functioning as intended and implement remediation plans
- Maintain and update the general ledger system, ensuring the integrity of our financial data
- Conduct monthly physical inventory counts and reconcile any discrepancies
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university required
- Must have understanding of GAAP
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite including Excel
- Leadership skills and attention to detail; must be meticulous with work products
- Ability to work independently and handle changing priorities
- Project accounting experience is a plus
- Master’s degree or CPA highly preferred
- Prior work experience in general accounting or finance
