We are looking to fill a position for an Organic Chemist in Labeled Compound Synthesis working as a full-time employee of Parexel on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Rahway, NJ. We are looking to fill a position for an Organic Chemist in Labeled Compound Synthesis working as a full-time employee of Parexel on long-term assignment onsite at one of our clients located in Rahway, NJ. Responsibilities
- Assist the group as needed with all aspects of the synthesis, purification and characterization of compounds and execute administrative tasks in support of these efforts
- Following provided procedures, synthesize compounds of interest on milligram to gram reaction scales
- Characterize the products of chemical reactions using appropriate instrumentation including LCMS, HPLC and NMR
- Purify the products by chromatography and separation technologies
- Handle and manipulate low energy radioactive compounds following established procedures
- Perform some operations of air or moisture-sensitive compounds in a glovebox or using a Schlenk line, according to established procedures
- Prepare monthly status reports as well as detailed reports on the procedures, protocols, and experimental data in a suitable format
- Maintain laboratory chemical inventory according to established procedures and maintain a safe, well-stocked and clean laboratory in accordance with technical and safety protocols
- Report all maintenance issues of the laboratory equipment and instruments to the proper facility management teams and personnel

- Experience in synthesis, purification, and characterization of compounds
- Experience working with stable and radioactive isotopes
