Position Summary: We are looking for a Camp Counselor to supervise young campers and make sure they learn and have fun. Camp Counselors ensure campers are safe at all times and will oversee their activities to ensure they don’t get lost or hurt. The job duties of a Camp Counselor include planning summer camp games, educating children and setting up equipment. Being reliable and able to build good relationships with children are two essential traits of a Camp Counselor. This is a seasonal position, (May-August) to serve as day camp counselors.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children is preferred
Essential Functions:
- Supervise YMCA campers, keeping accountability of them at all times
- Maintain safe environment for campers, following all rules and policies
- Plan summer camp games and activities
- Educate campers
-Set up equipment for camp activities and learning programs
