Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility comprised of 25-inpatient beds located in Paris, IL & a multitude of outpatient clinic settings including Family Practice and Specialty Clinics in Paris and surrounding cities. Position Summary:
The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for being knowledgeable in multiple areas of the nutrition & dietetics field including principle of human nutrition, medical nutrition therapy principles & practices, and menu planning principles.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities/Accountability):
- Plans and implements nutrition care, nutrition education, and medical nutrition therapy.
- Collaborates with food service operations and health staff to meet patients’ nutritional needs.
- Plans and implements quality improvement activities for the dietetic service.
- Develops, reviews, and adapts therapeutic and modified diets to meet the needs of individual
- patients and/or clients in cooperation with health staff.
- Participates in patient care conferences as needed.
- Participates in developing policies, procedures, and standards for Nutritional Services
- department.
- Participates in diabetes education program, bariatric program, employee wellness program,
- Cardiac Rehab program, and community health/wellness initiatives.
- Maintains professional credentials and proof of credentials are filed appropriately.
- Fulfills management roles upon need.

Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred
- Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (RD/RDN) and Illinois Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist (LDN) required
- Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (CDCES) preferred
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position

Hours: Monday- Friday 8am-430p with weekend rotations
