Drone Pilot (Mosquito Control) –

Labor Grade 115 / Pay Range: $24.34 - $34.31

SUMMARY

The Drone Pilot is primarily responsible for planning and conducting drone flights in support of Ascension Parish Government (APG) Mosquito Control.

MAJOR DUTIES

· Surveys, maps, and sprays using drone systems in urban and rural areas

· Plans, prepares, and executes flight plans and equipment in accordance with the master schedule for the Mosquito Control Department

· Application using or supervising the use of restricted use pesticides in the maintenance of public roads, electric power lines, pipelines, railway rights-of-way or other similar areas

· Works with department directors in response to emerging events and requirements

· Any other duties as assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent and completion of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and a minimum of (2) years directly related experience is required

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS – CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

· The incumbent is required to have a current, and the ability to maintain, state of Louisiana driver’s license

· The incumbent is subject to a pre-employment physical and drug screens with random drug testing thereafter

· 18 years of age or older or emancipated minor

· Successfully complete the General Standards Examination

· Successfully complete the Aerial Application of Pesticides Examination

· Successfully complete Right of Way Herbicide Examination

· Successfully complete the Public Health Pest Control – Mosquito Control Applicator Examination
