Inspector, Stormwater (Planning and Development) –
Labor Grade 115 / Pay Range: $24.34 - $34.31
SUMMARY
The Inspector, Stormwater, is responsible for inspecting non-industrial construction and post construction sites to ensure storm water related ordinances, regulations and requirements are being met. Responsible for inspecting infrastructures for storm water related assets and features.
MAJOR DUTIES
· Must be knowledgeable of storm water and related ordinances and regulations and use this understanding to review storm water permits, plans and documentation. Able to review plans and permits submitted to determine if they are adequate and meet regulatory requirements.
· Performs on site and in field inspections of storm water related issues at non-industrial construction sites. Locates and inspects infrastructure components and features which may impact storm water.
· Promptly and thoroughly completes forms and reports of inspections. This documentation will be used to ensure compliance with storm water regulations. Must be able to prepare various correspondence to communicate with different parties. All the above may be used by administrative or judicial authorities.
· Must be able to use or operate the following: Parish vehicle, boat and motor, programmable GPS Unit, hand tools, field equipment, and safety equipment.
· Any other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent and (3) years of directly related experience is required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS – CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
· The incumbent is required to have a current, and the ability to maintain, Louisiana state driver’s license.
· The incumbent is subject to pre-employment physical and drug screens with random drug testing thereafter.
· The incumbent must be able to obtain a Stormwater Inspector Certification within the first six months of employment.
