Part Time Mosquito Control Specialist (Mosquito Control) –
Labor Grade 108 / Pay Range: $18.19 - $25.64
SUMMARY
The part time Mosquito Control Specialist works under the direct supervision of the Supervisor II and is responsible for daily activities related to the control and/or eradication of mosquitos for the Parish Mosquito Control Program.
MAJOR DUTIES
· Locate mosquito infested areas, identify subject pests, apply standard sampling techniques, and collect samples of unidentified pests
· Apply and spray chemicals as directed by the supervisor
· Spray chemicals by hand and with truck sprayers
· Mix necessary chemical applications for use as insecticides for all parish mosquito control employees
· Report any equipment problems or equipment needs to the supervisor as directed
· Work independently and interact with the public as needed
· Any other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS – CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
· The incumbent is required to have a current, and the ability to maintain, Louisiana state driver’s license.
· The incumbent is subject to pre-employment physical and drug test with random drug testing thereafter.
