This is a highly responsible position that includes training to operate, monitor and control activities of the City of Paris Water Treatment Plant as assigned by the Plant Superintendent.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Collects and analyzes water samples from all phases of the water treatment process using established procedures. Use SCADA computer to adjust chemical levels to ensure proper residuals. Adjusts pumps to ensure proper flow of water into and leaving the plant, maintains accurate operational records. The operator-in-training will learn to perform operation and maintenance of all aspects of the water treatment plant. Works alternating shifts including weekends and holidays.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED. The selected applicant will be required to obtain a Class “D” & “C” Water Treatment Operator licenses from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality within twelve (12) months of hire date, failure to complete this requirement will result in separation from employment. Must have the ability to perform essential job functions. Must possess a valid Texas Class “C” driver’s license.
